We perform as a marching band, pep band and as a concert band. This is the band that has made our school known all over Northern California. Always remember that you represent your school when you travel with the band. We take day trips and overnight trips. In the last few years we have traveled to Canada three times, Southern California, Lake Tahoe and Hawaii twice. All music classes are taught by the multi-talented Armen Phelps, who is currently in his 22nd of teaching music at Encinal.

This year, we have revitalized our Percussion line by bringing back Band Alumni Ervin Lopez. 

Trip Requirements:
1. Fantastic behavior is expected.
2. Students must have 85% of the quarter participation points to go on any overnight trip.
3. Always remember that you represent your school and family when we travel. Be on your best behavior.
4. Students must be responsible for their own belongings. Chaperones and staff will not be responsible for you.

Uniform Requirements:

1. All students must bring their own black socks.
2. Remove or cover with band-aids all visible piercings. Band-aids must be supplied by the student.
3. Remove nail polish.
4. Refrain from wearing make-up while in uniform.
5. Students must also bring their own hair accessories to use to hold their hair up in their shako (hat) during the marching performance.
