This class is aimed at the new player. We’ll cover the basics of guitar playing, including but not limited to, hand position, parts of the guitar, tuning, chords, tablature, note reading, strumming patterns, playing in ensembles and music theory. Students must provide their own guitars. An acoustic guitar is best for class work. An electric guitar CAN be used but no amps are allowed in class. Each student will also need to have a guitar carrying case for daily transportation to and from school. This class has no additional fees.

The Beginning Guitar Program is in need of acoustic guitars with hard cases OR hard cases only. We lack the facilities to store guitars with soft cases or with no cases at all.
